Frances Kathryn Hull (Green)
Frances Kathryn Green Hull
Frances Hull of Spring House died peacefully on October 28, 2020. She was 83 years old.
Frances was born in 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Nancy and James Green.
Her father was an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers and the family moved frequently during and after World War II. They lived for several years in Okinawa during the reconstruction after the war. She attended St. Margaret’s School in Tappahannock, Virginia, and after graduation went to Douglass College in New Jersey. In 1957 Frances married Frederick Hull, who was a graduate student in engineering at Princeton University. Fred’s engineering career took them to Ohio and Pennsylvania, where they raised three daughters. Fred and Fran built a vacation home in Normandy Beach, New Jersey, and enjoyed many summers in the sun with their extended families. Fred passed away in 1993. Having learned to play bridge in high school, the game was a lifelong passion in which Fran excelled. She was also a famously dedicated knitter and provided many blankets and pairs of socks to her grandchildren. Frances loved to travel and took vacations with family and friends. She especially enjoyed cruises and visited many countries in the later years of her life. Family was everything to her and she spent holidays with her daughters and their families. As her grandchildren grew, Frances was proud to attend their graduations and weddings.
Frances is survived by her brother William Green of Laredo, Texas, and by her daughters; Sandra (Eric) Seale of Santa Barbara, California, Sarah (Raymond) Golaszewski of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, and Julia (Charles) Chesebrough of Skillman, New Jersey. Her twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association .
The family is planning to host a memorial in the spring of 2021 and we look forward to celebrating the life of our mother and grandmother.
