Dr. William E. Vaughan Jr. Service Information

Dr. William E. “Bill” Vaughan Jr. of Chalfont died unexpectedly on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Doylestown Hospital.  He was 51. 

Bill was the loving and devoted husband of Kristin Roddy Vaughan.  Together they shared many years of love, family, and life’s adventures. 

Born in Abington, he was the son of the late William E. Vaughan Sr. and Elizabeth Hunt Baldwin (Joseph) of Warrington. 

Bill was raised, one of four, in a loving Irish Catholic household where he was known while growing up to be the most adventurous of his siblings, always the first one to try just about anything.  An avid lover of any adventure, Bill loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and time at the beach.  He proudly, yet quietly, served in the United States Navy, which enabled him to follow his dream of becoming a physician.  He served initially as a Corpsman then later as a doctor embedded with the U.S. Marines in Iraq, as Medical Officer at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, and retired as a Lieutenant.  Bill was a family doctor at Abington-Jefferson Health and most recently served as a family physician for Doctors on Demand and continued his dedication to his work and his patients, even in the midst of the current situation surrounding the pandemic.

Bill will be remembered for  putting his personal needs and safety aside to “show up” for those he loved and served - be it his parents, a sibling in need, a niece or nephew’s special occasion or a stranger in bad health - and for being a steady presence in the countless lives of those who will miss him so dearly.    

In addition to his wife and his mother, Bill is survived by his brothers, Bernard Vaughan of Ossining, NY and Neil Vaughan of Fall City, WA, their wives, Jennifer and Nicole respectively, and his sister Lizanne Vaughan of Snoqualmie, WA. He also leaves behind many cousins and his nieces and nephews, Michael, Gianna, Patrick, Amanda, Sarah, Emilia, Michael, Emma, Matthias, Ellen, Jonah, Samuel, and Grace; and his faithful companions, Labrador Retriever Luke and Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Finn. 

For the safety of family and friends, Bill’s services will be held privately at this time.  A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date.
