Glenn Fleming

Glenn B. Fleming of Holland, PA passed away on October 18, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Stephanie (Parker) Fleming for 40 years. Glenn was born in Wilmington DE in 1955, son of the late Dorothy Sweeney Fleming and the late T. Bayard Fleming.

Glenn graduated from Conrad High School in Wilmington, DE in 1973. He then worked for Sears for 30 years finishing his career with them as the Cottman Avenue store manager in Philadelphia, PA. After that, Glenn began his career in Flooring with Avalon Carpet, Tile, and Flooring. He  worked to open the Warrington, PA Avalon store and has served the company as a manager for the last seventeen years. Glenn also recently served his church, St. John’s United Methodist Church in Ivyland, PA as the head trustee.

Glenn was a family man who loved to spend time with his family by blood and those friends who became his family. He enjoyed traveling, music, gardening, the beach, especially Ocean City, New Jersey, Penn State and Temple football, and cooking. He could often be found enjoying his back porch among the flowers he planted, listening to Jimmy Buffett and cooking something delicious on the grill.

In addition to his wife Stephanie, Glenn will be greatly missed by his daughters, Kate Decker (Matt) and Megan Glenn (Seán), his grandchildren, Thomas and Luella, his brother Dale and his many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Glenn’s family will receive friends in a drive-thru fashion on Friday, October 30th from 9:00am-11:00am at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 820 Almshouse Road, Ivyland, PA. Due to social distancing precautions, the funeral service at 12pm will be private. However, the church will be using a radio broadcast system for those who wish to listen to the church service live, in their cars, at 12pm after parking in the church parking lot. Information to listen to the service will be provided upon parking.

In lieu of flowers a charitable donation can be made in Glenn’s honor to Penn State THON (donate.thon.org), which supports families and children in the fight against pediatric cancer.
