James G. Fitzgerald, Sr.

James G. Fitzgerald, Sr. of North Wales and formerly of Warminster and North East Philadelphia died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 16, 2020. He was 84.

James was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late May E. Wise Fitzgerald.

Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late James G. and Loretta McFeeley Fitzgerald.

James enjoyed watching and playing basketball as a youth and also as an adult.  He shared and passed down his love of the game to his sons and eventually to his grandchildren.  He enjoyed spending summers at the South Jersey Shore Points, times sitting down in front of a fine meal with a glass or two of wine, but above all James cherished time spent amongst family.  James will be greatly missed, but loved eternally by everyone who was special to him during his life.

James is survived by his two sons, James G. Fitzgerald Jr and his wife Cynthia of Maple Glen and Kevin Fitzgerald and his wife Susan Anti of Wilbraham, MA. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Jillian Fitzgerald and her husband Joseph Cole, Brie Chyko and her husband Robert, James G. Fitzgerald III and his wife Stephanie, Alexandra, Robert, Dillon, Shane and Riley Fitzgerald and his seven great grandchildren, Emma, Ava and Nora, Jackson Cole, James G., IV, Declan and Caleb Fitzgerald.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am on Tuesday, October 20th in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA 19044.  Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 399 Market Street Suite 102 Philadelphia, PA 19106
