Bernard Joseph Quigley

Bernard Joseph Quigley left this earth on September 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving children. “Bernie” was 91 years of age. 

He was the devoted husband of the late Dorothy Patricia and the two were married for almost 60 years.

He was the last remaining sibling of 15 brothers and sisters. 

Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Bernie was a Philadelphia Police Officer from 1951-1976. He was a Vice-President of FOP Lodge 5 for six years and he was the founder and first President of the Philadelphia Emerald Society (established 1973.)

Bernie was the proud father of five children (Noreen Kuhlwind (Duke), Kathleen Quigley, Patrick Quigley (Michele), Kelly Ann McIntyre (Kevin), and Colleen Wesolowski (Edward).  He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, Shawn Staub, Kyle Staub, Bridget Stetler, Francis Daly, Megan Daly, Timothy Daly (deceased), Conor Quigley, Maura Quigley, Aidan Quigley, Shannon McIntyre, Kevin McIntyre, Joshua McIntyre, Jonathan McIntyre (deceased), Sarah Calgani, Taylor Wesolowski, and Breanna Weslowski; and 4 great grandchildren, lSean Daly, Declan Stetler, Collin McIntyre, and Cora McIntyre.

Bernie's services and interment will be held privately.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society at 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
