Debra A. Newman (Hagerty)

Debra A. Newman of the Stanwood section of Bensalem died following a long and courageous struggle with MS at the PowerBack Rehabilitation Center on September 2, 2020.  She was 61.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late David and Dorothy Robenolt Hagerty.

Debra graduated from Mastbaum High School and spent her long career both in banking and logistics before her illness would eventually prevent her from working any longer.  During her life she enjoyed countless vacations, including many to her favorite destination, Disney World.  She was also a talented musician having been part of the drum & bugle corps for the Police Athletic League and she also had an opportunity to play the Oboe with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Most of all, Debby was an adoring and devoted mother to her two children and although at some points she thought motherhood wouldn’t be in the cards, she beamed with pride as she enjoyed watching her children grow into adults.  Her outgoing personality and her ability to always put others before herself are just a couple of the countless things about Debbie that will be missed.

Debby leaves behind her children, Christopher Newman and Briana Newman; her former husband, Greg Newman (June); her brother, David Hagerty (Betty) and her sister, Darlene Dolbow (Dory) as well as countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 10:00AM until her Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954.  Her interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Huntingdon Valley.  Please note that masks are required at all services and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 30 S. 17th St, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
