Jerry R. Cosimo

Jerry R. Cosimo, 91, of Ann’s Choice in Warminster and formerly of Brick, NJ and Churchville, PA died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 31, 2020. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Janet Giordano Cosimo.

Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Felice and Alfonsina Peccatiello Cosimo. His parents were Italian immigrants who owned a dry goods store in Newark where Jerry began working as a young boy. He had an interesting career path in his early years, as he worked as an apprentice to an embalmer at the local funeral home.  He also worked as a tailor at a men's clothing store where he made beautiful custom suits, entirely by hand. Jerry had his prized cutting shears and sewing box always ready to mend his family's clothes until his later years when his eyesight began to deteriorate.  Eventually Jerry attended Newark College of Engineering and spent the remainder of his career working in mechanical engineering and manufacturing of nuclear reactor components.  Jerry held a top secret security clearance because of the work he did for the U.S. Government. Jerry also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Anybody who knew Jerry well knew that he was a lover of gadgets. He owned more radios and cameras than his family could count and even built his own stereo system which enabled him to enjoy his beloved opera music collection. Jerry also enjoyed playing golf, bocce and bowling. During his retirement years Jerry worked tirelessly serving his community of Lions Head South In NJ. Jerry held two terms as President of the Mens Club and was voted Man of the Year in 2002.

In addition to his beloved wife Janet, Cosimo is survived by his loving and devoted children: Lisa Uhlman and her wife Susan Buckland of Perkasie, PA, Gerard Cosimo of Palmerton, PA, and Laura Cosimo of Perkasie,PA  He is also survived by his loving granddaughters Kelsey and Kristen.

Jerry’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sand Ridge Rd.)
