Elfriede Smith (Meininger)

Elfriede Smith, nee Meininger of Langhorne, Pa., died at the age of 99 years peacefully at her home Tuesday morning June 23, 2020.

Daughter of the late Gustav and Selma Meininger and wife of the late David H. Smith.  She is survived by her son Norman (Lynn) Smith of Hatboro, Pa., granddaughter Kerry Ann Laughlin, great-grandchildren Shelby, Derek and Dylan, granddaughter Kelly (Carl) Franzetti and her niece Brigitte Gropp of Frankfurt, Germany.

Born and married in Frankfurt-Main Germany, Mrs. Smith came to the United States in 1953 to live in Bucks County, Pa. and became a naturalized citizen in 1960.  She enjoyed doing puzzles, baking, dining out and spending time with her family and friends. Elfriede will always be remembered for her delicious Christmas cookies.

Family and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Service, 10:00 AM, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954. His interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elfriede’s name may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Evangelical Church, 505 York Road, Hatboro PA 19040.
