Alexander M. Reilley Jr.

Alexander McClenaghan Reilley of Huntingdon Valley, PA died on May 26, 2020 at the age of 85 years with his wife by his side.

Al was born to Lillian Mae Reilley and Alexander Reilley Sr. on August 24, 1934 and grew up in Philadelphia with his brother and sister, Joseph Reilley and Lillian Faustino.  After graduating from Dobbins High School, Al married his high school sweetheart, Carole Ritting, in 1955.  The couple was married for 64 years and had six children.

Al was a graduate of La Salle University and worked as an Operations Manager for Atlantic Bell Telephone Company, until he retired in 1991.  Al was a family man and spent much of his time volunteering in the community as a little league baseball coach, a Boy Scout Leader, President of the PTA at Lower Moreland High School, and an Elder of Melrose Carmel Presbyterian Church.  In the eyes of his children, Al could fix anything, which is why his C.B. handle was “Mr. Fix It”.  Al’s greatest passion was boating and on any summer weekend, you could find him down on his boat, the CARAL. He was the Commander of the Delaware River Power Squadron and taught navigation courses for many years.  He was well known for his sweet tooth and love of ice cream, along with his great sense of humor.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Alexander is survived by his wife, Carole Ann Reilley; six children, Carole (David) Coombs, Alexander Reilley III, Diane (George) Reilley-Sengpiel, Robert (Terry) Reilley, Joyce (Scott) Dondanville, Gregory (Beth) Reilley and their families.  He was loved by his thirteen grandchildren, Brian, Amanda, Dana, Alexander IV, Robert, Kelley, Mason, Devin, Victoria, Sean, Gage, Cole, and Jillian; and three great-grandchildren, Layla, Robert, and Lainey.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alexander’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Fund at ALZ.com
