Walter F. Peters

Walter Frederick Peters, Sr. of Levittown, Newtown and Warrington, died peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Neshaminy Manor Home, Warrington, PA due to complications from COVID-19. Walt was 95 years old.

Born in Atlantic City, NJ, Walt was the beloved husband for 69 years to the late Mary E. Lukas Peters, son of the late Byard and Hilda Freed Peters, and brother of Charlotte Casto (Larry, deceased), the late Byard “Bart” Peters, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.

Walter attended Pleasantville High School in Atlantic City, NJ and served as a proud veteran of the United States Army during WWII. He worked for many years in insurance and as a sales associate for Sears. He enjoyed his family and traveling in his motorhome to FL and the Jersey shore. Walt loved to ski and play golf. He was known for his quick wit and his kind and compassionate spirit. He was quite the handyman around the house and could fix just about anything.

He is survived by his children, W. Fred Peters, Jr. (Cheri) and Barbara Peters Enwright (Jack); grandchildren Jen (Geoff), Lela (Mark), John (Lora), Mike (Lindsey) and Dan; and great grandchildren Paige, Jaycie, Nate, Will, Gabriel, Sam, Ali, and Jack.

Due to current restrictions with the coronavirus, his funeral and interment at Washington Crossing Nat’l Cemetery, Newtown, will be celebrated at a future date.
