Wayne Smith

Wayne Smith of Quakertown died peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at The Village at LifeQuest in Quakertown.  He was 80.  Wayne was the loving husband of Judith M. Allen Smith, with whom he had shared 42 years of marriage.  Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Norris Howard Smith and Marie Elizabeth Dellosso Smith.

In addition to his wife, Wayne leaves behind his children, Mark Smith of Bethlehem, and his wife Denise, Gordon Smith of Collegeville, and his wife Michelle, and Carole Casale and her husband Charles of New Britain; and his step-children, Cheryl Baldt and her husband Thomas of South Dennis, NJ, Michael Parsons and his wife Dawn of Queen Creek, AZ, Ronald Parsons of Lansdale, and Wayne Parsons and his wife Pam of Perkasie. Wayne was pre-deceased by step-son John Parsons.  He is also survived by grandchildren Rachel, Ryan, Tyler, Megan, Erica, Dylan, Mari, Andrew, Ella, Matthew, Gregory and his wife Kristine, Charles and his wife Angelica, Kelly and her husband Bryan, Jennie, Tim, Nick, Isaiah and great-grandchildren Katrina, Skylar, Michael, Dominic, Jacob, Lacee, Bryan, Andrew, Thomas and Julia.  Wayne is also survived by his loving sister Carole Reynolds of Towson, MD.

Wayne was a 1961 graduate of the University of Baltimore. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Kappa fraternity. He proudly served as a Staff Sargent in the United States Army Reserve, starting in 1957, and was honorably discharged in 1963. 

Wayne worked for Tastykake for 35 years, starting as a substitute driver and eventually owning the King of Prussia/Norristown area distribution route until his retirement in 2013.

Wayne was a volunteer fireman in Warrington for over 20 years.  As Civil War history buffs, Wayne and Judith were also actively involved for many years with Historical Impressions of America, through which they enjoyed years of living history experiences with friends and fellow historians. 

Services and interment will be held at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 415, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 or the American Battlefields Trust (battlefields.org), an organization working to preserve America’s Civil War battlefields, 1140 Professional Court, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
