Lorraine Ruth Steamer Beresford (Ehresmann)

Lorraine Steamer Beresford passed away peacefully on February 15, 2020. She was 76.

Lorraine was the beloved wife to Richard J. Beresford for 22 beautiful years.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the devoted wife to her late first husband Cecil R. Steamer, loving daughter to the late Ervin and Bernadette Fuchs Ehresmann, and mother to the late Ronald and Scott Steamer.

Lorraine grew up in Philadelphia at a time when you could ride a horse down Second Street Pike…and she did!  She loved horses, even the wooden ones that she rode on the carousel as a child.  Lorraine graduated from William Tennent High School where she took short-hand and other business courses.  She was also a member of the National Honor Society.  Lorraine lived for a time in Corning, NY before moving to California where she met and fell in love with Cecil.  It was a fascinating start to a marriage that lasted 29 years (you’ll have to ask Tammy or Jamie for all the fun details!).

After moving to Pennsylvania, Lorraine and Cecil grew their family.  Lorraine worked for a number of years at Bucks Dental Center where she was the office manager.  She would later manage other medical offices over the course of her working years.  Lorraine and Cecil loved spending time outdoors, attending church and church-related events, and being with family and friends.  Cecil passed in November, 1994.

Lorraine and Richard married in March of 1997.  They enjoyed 22 years together spending time with family and friends, taking mini-vacations when they could.  Lorraine and Richard spent the last five years living in Lancaster County, PA to be closer to their only grandchild.  Boy, will Ella miss her Grandmom!

Lorraine was a loving, selfless wife, mother, daughter, and friend who would put everything else aside to help someone.  She was known to give the BEST advice to her friends and family who called her for it often.  She was funny, a little silly, full of spunk, and a force to be reckoned with if anyone hurt someone she loved.  She will be deeply missed!

We know Lorraine now resides with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, but she leaves behind many hurting hearts.

In addition to her husband, Lorraine is survived by her daughters; Tammy Mondschein (Peter) and Jamie Nace (Troy), as well as her granddaughter Ella Nace.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 11:00 AM until her Funeral Service at 12:30 PM at the Bux-Mont Christian Church, 400 Jacksonville Rd., Ivyland, PA 18974. Her interment will follow at 2:30 PM at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.  All are invited to attend a meal, after the burial, back at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lorraine’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
