Jean Nawalany (Rocha)

Jean Nawalany of Churchville died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia. She was 89.

Jean was the beloved wife of 32 years to Michael Nawalany.

Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Mary Gomes Rocha.

Jean was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Churchville in 2004. She spent many exciting years living in New York working in her family’s bar, restaurant and boarding house and spending quality time in Coney Island and other New York venues. In her leisure time, she enjoyed music and singing and many other adventurous activities that provided her joy. Jean was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Southampton and will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her daughter Denise Nawalany of Churchville and her sister Joanne R. Saladino and her husband Guy of Clark, New Jersey. She is also survived by her 2 adoring nieces Danielle and Kristen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Friday, January 31, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain and Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 9:00am until her Funeral Mass 10:30am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Street Pike and Knowles Avenue, Southampton, PA  18966. Jean’s interment will be private.
