They continued traveling through Elderhostel, eager to try new adventures. They were active volunteers. Although a gentle person, Marie met life's challenges with resiliency and faith.

In recent years, her focus was on spending time with her family and lifelong friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as reading and watching her evening shows surrounded by a lifetime of memories. An understanding, caring listener, she continued to be loved and well-respected by her children's and grandchildren's friends, and well-liked by everyone who met her.

Marie lived her life fully with enthusiasm, endurance, faith, and love for her family.
