Jean W. David (Campbell)

Jean W. David of Doylestown died peacefully on Monday November 18, 2019 at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. She was 98 years of age.

Born in Liverpool, England she was the beloved wife of 68 years to the late Harry L. David, Jr., daughter of the late James C. and Louise Donaldson Campbell.

Jean was a much focused woman; she loved her country and proudly served in the WAAF (Women’s Auxiliary Airforce) during WW II.  While she was serving her country she met Harry at a USO dance where she was singing with the band.  Harry was serving in the U.S Army and stationed in England.

In 1945 she and Harry married and came to America to raise a family. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who, along with her husband, raised two children, Sandra and Alan. She and her husband worshiped at Deep Run Presbyterian Church in Bedminster for many years after moving to Pine Run Retirement Community in 1994.

Jean and Harry were active in the Gladwyne VFW and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.  She enjoyed sailing in the Chesapeake with family and friends and singing in church choirs and Pine Run choir.

Jean will be remembered as fun-loving, feisty and devoted to her family.

She is survived by her son Alan L. David and daughter Sandra Jean Barkerding, and her husband Roger.  She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Ashley, Jessica and Kristin and her three great grandchildren; Noah, Rhys and Elise.
