Eleanor Alice McBride (Turner)

Eleanor A. (Turner) McBride, 84, of Doylestown, PA, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2019 at home with her family by her side after a five year fight against Cancer.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of Thomas P. McBride for more than 55 years.

Born in the Bronx on October 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen McCaffrey Turner.

Eleanor was formerly a 43 year resident of Tarrytown, NY, and also resided in Woodside, Queens, NY and the Bronx, NY. She was the proud alumna of Saint Peter and Paul School and Saint Barnabas High School. After raising her children, she returned to college and graduated Cum Laude from Marymount College, Tarrytown in 1984. While in Tarrytown, Eleanor worked for the Tarrytown Public Schools as a coordinator for English as a Second Language, Marymount College as an Admissions Director for Foreign Students, and Historic Hudson Valley as a Computer Systems Analyst. She will truly be missed by all who came to know her.

In addition to her husband, Eleanor is survived by her four loving children; Ann Damoiseaux (Didier), Thomas McBride Jr., Gail Brown (Christopher) and Robert McBride (Susan Hammes), as well as seven grandchildren, her sister Patricia and a brother William.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, November 8th, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, and again from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. An additional visitation will be on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Rd, Doylestown, PA 18902. Her interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers gifts in her name may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Rd, Doylestown, PA 18902.
