John J. Pease Jr.
John (“Jack”) J. Pease Jr. of Langhorne died Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Chandler Hall Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was 74.
Jack was the beloved husband of 53 years to Helene M. Wible Pease.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John J. Pease Sr. and Anne Butch Pease and the father-in-law of the late Nancy J. Pease.
Jack grew up in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia and graduated from Father Judge High School. He completed courses at Drexel University and graduated from a trade school where he received specialized training as an auto mechanic. It was during high school that he met his wife, Helene, at the age of 15, and they remained together as a couple from that time until his passing.
Jack lived in the Rambler Park community in Far Northeast Philadelphia for many years before moving to Langhorne in 2005. He was a skilled auto repair mechanic and enjoyed a distinguished career working with the Philadelphia Water Department. He retired from the City of Philadelphia in a management position with over 30 years of service. He eventually
continued his employment with GL Sayre, Inc. until his complete retirement in 2015.
Jack was a devout parishioner of St. Anselm Church for many years and, in later years, attended St. Andrew Catholic Church and St. John the Evangelist Church. In his leisure time, he was a train enthusiast and was the ultimate Philadelphia Phillies fan who never missed a game.
Jack was known by his many friends and family members as someone who was exceedingly generous with his time and who would always lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a neighbor’s car or helping a family member with a household repair. He was a devoted husband and father who will be remembered for his soft-spoken demeanor and generous heart. He will truly be missed by his loving family and by all who came to know and love him.
In addition to his beloved wife Helene, Jack is survived by his children; John J. Pease III of Lafayette Hill, Thomas J. Pease and his wife Lea of Franklin Lakes, NJ and Anne Marie Bencivengo and her husband Paul of Langhorne. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Claypool Clement of Danville, PA and his 9 cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Nicola, Mallory, Marilyn, Matthew, John Michael, Ryan, Riley and Marisa.
