Patricia A. Byrne (Gallagher)

Patricia A. Byrne of the Solana in Warrington and formerly a long time resident of Newtown, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown.  She was surrounded by her devoted family as she peacefully drifted away just days prior to her 90th birthday.

Patricia was the loving and devoted wife of the late Joseph C. Byrne who passed away in 2008.

Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Garrity Gallagher.

To her family, Patricia was first and foremost the perfect mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a world traveler, a fashionista, and a women’s rights supporter.  Her very kind and generous soul will be missed but the ripple effects of her life will live on in all who knew and loved her.

A few days before she died, as her daughter leaned in to hug her and say goodbye, Patricia said to her “Thank you for giving me this day.” That describes who Patricia Byrne was to a tee.  She will be dearly missed.

Patricia leaves behind her adoring family which includes her children, Patricia A. Olewnik (John) of Exton, PA, Mary Lou Abruzzese (Andrew) of Newtown, Barbara A. Bilikiewicz (Joseph) of Morrisville, and Kathleen Godsell (Joseph) of Newtown.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Jonathan), Tim, Drew (Juliete), Jackie (Raoul), Philip, Maggie (Rick), Joseph (Cait), Evie (Tom), and David (Kim); and her great-grandchildren, Ellika, Kairi, Jack, Maddox, Grace, and Benjamin.

Patricia’s services and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
