Carol Downs (Delphia)

Carol Downs (nee Delphia), longtime resident of Richboro, died peacefully at Chandler Hall in Newtown on Wednesday Aug 7, just before her 76th birthday.   She was the beloved wife of Clifford Downs.  The couple shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Acushnet, MA, and raised in Pittsfield MA, Carol was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Alice (nee Lagasse) Delphia.    She is survived by sisters Sandra Luzis, Linda Martin, Gail Rodriguez, and brothers  Alan, Larry, Richard, Robert, and Steven Delphia, all of western Massachusetts.

Carol was a loving homemaker to her husband and sons Jeffrey of Perkasie PA and Michael of Richboro, PA.   She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, needlework, classical music, mystery novels and bowling. She was a parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Church and a long-time volunteer at the Northampton Township Library.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 10:00am, until the start of her Funeral Mass, 11:00am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name, to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay St., Newtown, PA18940.
