John Anthony Boccadori

John Anthony Boccadori of Doylestown, PA died Friday, August 2, 2019 at Abington Jefferson Health Hospice in Warminster surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.

John was the beloved husband of 53 years to Donna Current Boccadori.

Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of John Francis and Angela DePaola Boccadori and the father of the late John Christopher Boccadori.

John was a resident of Doylestown since 2003 having formerly resided in various communities such as Spring City, PA, Alexandria, VA, Florissant, MO, Bedford, MA, Warrington, PA, and Laflin, PA.

Before military service, John was employed by the PA Department of Highways and verified aerial mapping for I-80 bridges and the Western half of the Harrisburg, PA bypass.

John served our country in the US Army with over 20 years of faithful and distinguished military service and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel at The Pentagon with OCAR (Office of Chief Army Reserve). While he was serving our country, John oversaw many construction projects as an Army Corps Engineer; including being stationed in Vietnam, at The Pentagon with OCAR, and Ecuador as an IAGS Construction Special Projects Officer. He initiated and supervised the development of the first all comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure Plan, which later became a model for Army-wide adoption. While at Willow Grove NAS, he served as a Facility Engineer.

After Army retirement, John was the Business Manager/Deputy Commandant at the Southeastern Veterans Center at Spring City, PA. He acted as a contractor at the Joint Base-Mc-Guire-Lakehurst-Dix Real Property Office as well as RPO Mobilization Planner at Fort Dix, NJ.

John was known for his very gregarious spirit, actively participating in The American Legion Post 210, VFW Post 175, and the Disabled American Veterans, all of Doylestown.

In his leisure time, John would always be found gardening, working on the landscaping on his property and attending his mini vineyard.  John had a distinctive eye for architecture and a keen sense for organizing numbers. John will be deeply missed by his family and by all who came to know him for his unique sense of humor, tenacity and wonderful smile.

In addition to his beloved wife Donna, John is survived by his daughter, Andréa Davis and her husband Onan of San Diego, CA and his sister Joan Wren of Egg Harbor Township. Also, surviving are several loving nephews, nieces, and in-laws.
