Bernice Jean Twardowski (Bartosiewicz)

Bernice Jean Twardowski of Sunrise in Lower Makefield and formerly of the Mayfair Section of Philadelphia, died peacefully on July 6, 2019 at Buckingham Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was 95.

Born in Philadelphia, Bernice was the beloved wife of the late Walter Twardowski and the daughter of the late Alex and Sophia Siemiontkowski Bartosiewicz.

Bernice (Bea, Bebe) belonged to the Signal Corp and was a seamstress in the family business, Sophie’s Sewing Shop.  She was lastly employed at the Philadelphia Bulletin as a Want Ad Adjuster.  Bea belonged to Polish Heritage and Polish American Congress.  She also was a member of St. Timothy Senior Citizens and St. John Cantius Senior Citizens.

Bernice is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law Geraldine “Gerri” and Jack Lacey of Newtown.  She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses: Christine Papp (Brian), Janine Ruff (Corey), Jennifer Ruhling (Brian), and her great grandchildren: Riley Papp, Madelyn Papp, Tripp Ruhling, Brooklyn Ruff, and Charlie Papp.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, July 11from 9:30 am until her Funeral Mass 10:30 am at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 3001 Levick Street Philadelphia, PA 19149.  Her interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
