Francis J. McLaughlin

Francis J. McLaughlin of Holland died peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Richboro Care Center in Richboro. He was 87.

Francis was the beloved husband of 65 years to Mary E. Brophy McLaughlin.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna Donaghy McLaughlin and the brother of the late Thomas McLaughlin.

Francis was a resident of Philadelphia before moving to Holland in 2001. He had a long distinguished career as a realtor with Addario and McLaughlin in Philadelphia until his retirement. Francis was a veteran of the US Army where he was an Occupational Therapist and additionally was the Director of Catholic Youth Organization with Baseball for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In his leisure time enjoyed coaching baseball at St. Ambrose Parish in Philadelphia and vacationed at the Jersey shore with his late wife Mary and his family and spending quality time with his faithful dog Kira in later years.  Francis was known for his very dry sense of humor, being a terrific story teller and extremely proud of his Irish heritage. He will be truly missed by his family and by all who came to know him.

Francis is survived by his son Francis G. McLaughlin and his wife Michelle, his daughter Lisa McLaughlin, grandchildren Sean (Tanya) Caitlin Martineaux (Devon), Robert, and Thomas, and his great grandchildren Sean, Paige, Aubrey and Evelyn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966 from 9:30am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am.  Interment will follow Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
