I was very saddened to hear the news about John. His passing, although inevitable, is still hard to accept. As a scientist at Rohm and Haas, I worked closely with John for many years. I respected him very much. He was a likeable, fair-minded guy who always had time for his colleagues. He also had a creative and humorous imagination - I still enjoy a private smile whenever I recall his 'special' comments, sometimes in urgent situations ! John will always have a special place in my heart - I will miss those occasional get-togethers over lunch during our retirement years recalling with affection old adventures, and colleagues past and present. My heart goes out to Carol and her family. They are very much in my thoughts at this time. David
