Don, Ann, Sarah and the rest of the Pennell and Rambo Family,
I am finding myself without words to express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Craig was the exception. He was giving, loving, friendly and selfless for you, his community, and country. He was loved and respected as is shown by the outpouring of love to you, by hundreds of people who he has touched in one way or another. I have been, and will continue to pray that you will find comfort in your memories of how much he loved you, and the the time, albeit short, that you were blessed to have him as close to your hearts as he had you so close to his.

On behalf of the Riverside High School JROTC Ram Battalion, I would like to take this opportunity to express our condolences for your loss.
Craig Pennell was a member of the Riverside JROTC "Family" since September 1997 when he joined as a high school freshman. After graduation, He was always available and reliable to teach the student-cadets at Riverside JROTC his technical and tactical skills in rope-bridge building. Craig was a dependable, decisive Noncommissioned Officer who gave his time and energy with confidence and enthusiasm. The kids loved him. I loved him too. As his fellow noncomm, I can attest that he was one of the very best.

DOWNS SENDS

The word hero gets thrown around a lot but Craig was a true hero to his country, his community and a friend to all.

I am a better person because Craig was in my life.

While I am a life member of the Delran Emergency Squad with 22 years of service, only a few fellow volunteer EMTs were truly brave enough to want to ride Friday night crew with me and Craig was one of them. Any curveball that would be thrown his way on a call, like a nose bleed becoming a code or a twisted ankle becoming a code or a stomach ache becoming a code, he would handle the emergent situation (after the really, again Solomon look) with the utmost professionalism and ability in saving the life of the patient.

From his commitment of service to his country to the volunteerism in his community with the squad and the Delran Fire Department, he never wavered in his love to help others and make his part of the world a better and safer place.

I am honored that we were friends and partners on squad and my heart is completely shattered that he is gone. I know as I take the next call, Craig will always be with me and his spirit will continue to allow me to accomplish things that I’m probably not good enough to achieve on my own.

To Craig’s family and his fiancée Sarah who was also an integral part of the Friday night DES crew, my deepest and heartfelt condolences.

Rest easy my friend, we’ll take it from here.

Craig, you will be deeply missed and your smile will always be remembered. You now have the wings of an "Angel" and are able to soar higher then anyone. You are now seated at the right hand of our father .So enjoy his fruits of his love and labors.
