Rudolf Paul Haydu

Rudolf Paul Haydu

“Rudy”

Rudolf Paul Haydu, age 86 of Holland, PA passed away on March 22, 2024. Rudolf was born in 1938 in New York, NY. Beloved husband of Philomena (nee Gillooley). Loving father of John (Andrea Casanueva), Gary (Amy Haydu), and Glenn (Jill Talarico). Devoted grandfather of Rebecca, Corey, and Alison. Son of the late Peter and Piroska Haydu (nee Erdos). Dear brother of the late George and Albert.

Mr. Haydu served in the US Navy as an Electronic Technician, Petty Officer, 2nd Class assigned to the Western Pacific Submarine Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii from 1955-1959. Rudolf worked as an electronic engineer for various companies. While at GTE, he led a buyout of the division he ran and formed MTTR, Inc, where he was President and Chairman. MTTR formed in 1983 and was later sold to ADP Inc. He was then a General Manager with ADP and retired in 1986 and went on to live a life of leisure.

To friends and colleagues, he was Rudy. He was a man of principle; from a young age and son of Hungarian immigrants he was always hard working and driven. He taught many as a leader in his actions; be honest, treat people with respect and good things will come.

In his retirement years, he took great pride and enjoyed taking care of the home and property on Eagle Rd. An annual highlight for Rudy was “Bazo Day”, the gathering each year with his business partners from MTTR, Inc. This group of successful businessmen had a great bond and knew how to have a good time.

Rudy was a high school athlete, lettering in both Golf and Cross Country while also playing Ice Hockey. As an avid golfer he enjoyed many years of golfing with “The Legends” as a member of Lookaway Golf Club.

Most important to Rudy was his family, he was a devoted husband to Philomena for 64 years. They enjoyed traveling together, hosting holiday celebrations and attending the events of their Grandchildren.

If you ever spent time with Rudy, you knew he always liked to share a story.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 9:00am until his Funeral Service, 10:30am in the Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954. His interment will follow his service in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
