Katharine Steiger

Katharine Steiger of Pine Run at Lakeview and formerly of Churchville, PA died peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2019. She was 99.

Born in Philadelphia, Katherine was the daughter of the late Matthias and Emma Wuestner Steiger and the sister of the late Marjorie Dixon (late John), Marie Emma Dimmler (late William P.), the late Mathias Steiger (Mildred), and Rose Steiger.
Katharine was an ultimate lady and professional. Her professional career as an executive secretary was highlighted with her long time at Wyeth labs working for a major research scientist. She was well regarded for her skills and professional demeanor, a professional achievement for women in the 1950’s. Although she never married, her family was her pride and joy. She provided for, and cared deeply about her sisters, with whom she held a special bond, and her brother and parents, ensuring their care at all levels in life. A cheerleader and supporter of her nieces and nephews, she encouraged all to learn, excel and reach beyond expectations in life. Particularly, she encouraged her nieces and nephews to read at an early age. She enjoyed being part of her extended family’s lives, always absorbing details and asking questions about activities, achievements and milestones. Beyond her family, Kas enjoyed reading and learning from all kinds of media and maintaining her home and yard.

Katharine will always remember being intelligent, kind, grateful, and eternally, a lady.

Katharine is survived by her loving and devoted niece and nephew: Jean Leverage and her husband Ned and Paul Dimmler and his wife Carol, as well as nieces Amy Oxley and Susan Kenderdine, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6:00PM until her Funeral Service 7:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will be private at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville.
