John Atlee Whiteside

John Atlee "BJ"  Whiteside of Yardley passed away on Sunday June 23, 2019 in Philadelphia. He was 42.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of John Anthony and Margaret Berchtold Whiteside.

BJ was a former resident of Newtown before moving to Yardley. He was a graduate of Council Rock High School North, Class of 1995 and played varsity basketball for 3 years and was also the captain of the team and he continued his education graduating from Colorado Technical University with his ABA degree. He enjoyed and followed all Philadelphia sports teams especially the 76ers and was a huge Charles Barkley fan. John worked as a technician with Vibroplating Inc. in Bensalem with over 20 years of faithful and dedicated service to the firm. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who came to know and love him.

In addition to his beloved parents, BJ is survived by his sisters; Coleen Jones and her husband Christopher of Yardley and Megan Golden and her husband Thomas of King of Prussia. He is also survived by his cherished son and best friend Nasser Issa and his four nieces and nephews, Kelsey, Keira,  Ryan and Colin and his aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 9:30am until his Funeral Service 11:30am on Friday, June 28, 2019 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. John’s interment will be held at a future date in time.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in John’s memory to the John A. Whiteside Scholarship Fund for Nasser Issa, C/O PNC Bank, 91 Oxford Valley Road, Yardley, PA 19067.
