Donald Huscher

Donald Huscher of Richboro passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  He was 71.

Don was the loving husband of Christine M. Torpey Huscher with whom he shared 46 years of life, laughter, and love.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late Henry and Dorothy Keller Huscher.

Don attended Mastbaum High School and then enlisted with the United States Army at the young age of 17.  He spent most of his three years in the Army abroad in Germany before returning home and being honorably discharged.  He went on to start his own wallpaper hanging and painting business and after marrying his beloved wife, they settled down in Richboro in 1976 where he continued his business until his retirement in 2005.

Don was an avid sports lover and was very involved with youth sports in Northampton Township including the area’s little league and he managed “The Shack” concession stand.

Don will perhaps be most remembered for his outgoing and gregarious nature and his magnetic personality.  He was a social butterfly, and most enjoyed spending time with friends and family as well as countless gatherings for sporting events at Manny Brown’s in Langhorne.

Don was hard working, steadfastly devoted to his family, and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Don will be remembered with love by his children and their families; Keith Huscher (Kristin) and their son, Levi Huscher; Jennifer Huscher; and Lauren Kimball (Dave) and their children, Samantha and Tucker Kimball.  He also leaves behind his brother, Hank Huscher (Angela); and his nephews, John and Alan Huscher.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 12:00 PM until his Memorial Service 1:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954.  His interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Rd., Suite 415, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
