Thomas F. Dunleavy

Thomas F. Dunleavy of Abington passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health.  He was 78. Thomas was a son of the late James Dunleavy and Margaret (Boyle) Dunleavy.

A graduate of North Catholic and the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas served in the U.S. Army in West Berlin during the Soviet occupation of East Germany. His career in software and technical writing spanned a number of industries as well as government. He was a dedicated youth soccer coach and active member of the Philadelphia Oldtimers Soccer Association in support of area youth and high school soccer.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Eucharistic Minister.

Thomas is survived by his children Tom Dunleavy and his wife, Lisa and Denise Witter and her husband, Bill; his grandchildren, Shane, Rory, Emily and Abby; and his brother, Joseph Dunleavy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Dunleavy and Gerard Dunleavy and his sister Joan Dunleavy.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Tom’s family on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 11:30 AM until his Funeral Service 12:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954.  His interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to The Military Order of the Purple Heart Foundation, PO Box 49 Annandale, VA 22003 or The Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame, SEPA Soccer Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 16114, Philadelphia, PA 19114.
