Dolores Iglesias (Callejas)

Dolores Iglesias of Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at her home.  She was 86.

She was the beloved wife of the late Emilio Iglesias with whom she had shared 55 years of marriage.  Dolores was also preceded in death by her son, Emilio Iglesias Jr.

Born in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Tomas and Luz Maria Ferrera Callejas.  She came to the United States in February of 1962 seeking a better life and political asylum.  She became a naturalized citizen and was always grateful for the opportunities this country gave her.  Dolores, better known as Lolo, lived her life to the fullest.  She loved to crochet, write poetry, craft, read history, keep up with current events, and collect coins and stamps.  Her passion however was to make people laugh and never passed up the opportunity to have her picture taken.

Dolores is survived by her children, Enrique Iglesias, Jacqueline Zyck and (Matthew) and Edward Iglesias and (John Groom).  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michele Iglesias and Christopher, Andrew, and Michael Zyck; as well as her great-grandson, Billy Schanbacher.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 12:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954.  Her interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to: American Diabetes Association,  150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
