Maryanne C. Bedesem (Carey)

Maryanne C. Carey Bedesem of Langhorne (formerly of Holland), died peacefully, with her family by her side on Sunday, September 17, at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, Pa. She was 86 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, Maryanne was the beloved wife of the late Richard V. “Dick” Bedesem, daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Dowd Carey and sister of the late Buck and Joe Carey.

Maryanne was a graduate of J.W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High and Gwynedd Mercy University.

Maryanne was a devoted member of St. Bede’s Church and a Eucharistic Minister. Maryanne was a woman of strong faith who prayed often for everyone. It’s impossible to put into words how big a heart Maryanne had. She had a keen ability to spot any person in need and wouldn’t think twice about offering whatever help she could. She was selfless, fiercely devoted to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family and will be dearly missed by so many whose hearts she touched.

Maryanne is survived by her loving children Richard Bedesem, Jr   and his wife Robin (O’dowd), Daniel Bedesem and his wife Madalyn, Gregory Bedesem and his wife Lin, Thomas Bedesem and his wife Nancy and Vincent Bedesem and his wife Heather Hopkins, her 2 brothers and their wives Bill Carey (Judy), John Carey (Jean), her sister Alice Whalen Carey (late Thomas). She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Maryanne’s family will receive condolences on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 9:30am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.

In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Family Service Association of Bucks County, 4 Cornerstone Drive, Langhorne PA 19047.
