Frederick Albert Stewart

Frederick Albert Stewart of Newtown died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. He was 78.

Born in Philadelphia, Fred was the son of the late Edward Oliver and Jean Kaplan Stewart, the brother of the late Edward Jack Stewart and Alice May Stewart. He was the proud father of the late Keith Stewart.

Fred was born in Philadelphia and grew up on Long Beach Island, NJ. He attended Admiral Farragut Academy, followed by 2 years of service to our country in the US Coast Guard, of which he spoke frequently.

Fred was a long time resident of Bucks County working as a home renovation contractor until his retirement.

Community service was Fred's way of "paying back" through his activities with Northampton Days celebrations, Lions International, AARP Driver Safety and Guardians of the National Cemetery. In each of these, Fred always participated in full measure.

Fred is survived by many friends who will truly miss his presence and friendship. Thanks also to the caring staff of Brookdale Hospice. 

Friends and colleagues are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, May 23rd from 5:30pm until his Funeral Service at 7:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Fred’s inurnment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery is scheduled for 9:00AM on Tuesday, June 13
