Genevieve Nobile (Colorafi)

Genevieve Nobile of Langhorne and formerly of Glen Head, New York passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by her family on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the age 94.

Genevieve was the loving wife of the late Thomas A. Nobile.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Catherine LoSchiavo Colorafi.  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Vincent and Bart Colorafi.

Genevieve graduated from Bay Ridge High School in New York and went on to attend Columbia University.  She held various professional positions over the years; however, her number one commitment was taking care of her family.  Following her husband’s death, Genevieve relocated to Langhorne, Pennsylvania and at the age of 77, she began a whole new chapter in life.  Gene was a faithful parishioner of Queen of the Universe Parish in Levittown where she attended daily Mass.  She volunteered her time at St. Mary Medical Center Thrift Store, Mary’s Pantry Cupboard, helped to care for the church altar linens, and was a familiar face at the clubhouse at the Villages of Flowers Mill, the community where she resided since moving to Pennsylvania.

Slowing down was not in Genevieve’s vocabulary for it was not until later in life that she took her love of travelling to a new level, visiting countless destinations, most of which were visited over the last 17 years of her life.  She travelled all over the United States and internationally to more places than most could fathom and in the instances where she was at home for a period of time, she always had something to keep her busy.  Not only did her volunteer work keep her moving, but she also enjoyed reading, power walking, stretching exercises, and after moving to Bucks County, Gene became an avid card player mostly because it provided an opportunity to be surrounded by her many friends.  She will be dearly missed as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Surviving are her children, Terry Iacobellis (Rev. Mr. William Iacobellis) of Holland, PA, Thomas Nobile (Cathy) of New York, NY, and Cathy DeRico of Yardley, PA.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Bill, Kate, and Luke; and her great-grandchildren, Megan, Aubrey, James, Katherine, and Thomas.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 9:30 AM until Words of Remembrance at 10:45 AM and her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA 19056.  Her entombment will take place privately in St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, NY.
