Francis X. “Frank” Iaquinto


Francis X. “Frank” Iaquinto, of Worcester, PA (formerly of Gwynedd Valley and Richboro) died on Monday, August 23, 2004 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Born in Philadelphia, Frank was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School (Class of 1960) and received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from LaSalle University in 1964.

Frank started his professional career working as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. After working for several companies as an accountant, Frank joined the accounting firm Laventhol and Horwath in 1972, where he became partner. Frank worked at Laventhol for over fifteen years before joining The Hansen Group, the commercial real estate firm, as Chief Financial Officer in 1987. At Hansen, Frank assisted the company in developing golf courses and commercial real estate property in Florida and Pennsylvania, including the Arnold Palmer-designed Commonwealth Country Club in Horsham. In 1992, Frank created FXI Associates, a financial and operational consulting firm focused on serving manufacturing companies. From 1995 until his retirement in 2001, Frank served as a Director at Century Business Services (NASD: CBIZ), a provider of benefits and accounting services.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Frank had significant charitable achievements. In 1985, he founded The Patrons Foundation, a non-profit organization of over 100 current members which provides funding for education, goods and services for people in need in the Philadelphia area. Since its inception, The Patrons Foundation has provided over $1 million in aid to its benefactors, ranging from academic scholarships, to housing payments, to last minute Christmas presents. Patrons funds are directed towards helping individuals who had "fallen through the cracks" in society and provides needed aid to people in times of crisis.

In addition to his philanthropic work, Frank was also a very active member of the local community. Frank served as Past-President of the Greater Philadelphia Association of Certified Public Accountants and was a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Frank hosted the talk show “More for your Money” on radio station WPEN 950, which focused on providing tax planning and advice. He served on Boards and Committees of the Union League of Philadelphia, Manufacturers Golf and Country Club, and Elmwood Park Zoo, and as Past-President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of UNICO, the largest Italian-American Service Organization in the U.S. Frank also actively supported his alma maters, Roman Catholic High School and LaSalle University. For over 10 years, Frank coached little league baseball and basketball. He enjoyed golf, reading and traveling. Frank had a keen interest in U.S. History and was an expert student of World War II.

Son of the late Frank and Mary (nee D’Alfonso), he is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Elizabeth M. “Bettie” Hughes Iaquinto, his loving children and their spouses Stephanie and David Buckley of Malvern, PA, Stacey and Patrick Hoffman Sr., of Audubon, PA, Kevin and Alla Iaquinto of Bethesda, MD, and Sean Iaquinto of Hoboken, NJ, his sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Joseph Brady of Plymouth Meeting, PA, his brother and sister-in-law James and Malgosia Iaquinto of Goshen, NY, his sister-in-law Sandra, wife of late brother Anthony (Buddy) Iaquinto and his mother-in-law Elizabeth M. Hughes of Lansdale, PA. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren, Meghan, Patrick, Matthew, Colin, Kelly, and Jack.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Friday, August 27, 2004 from 6:00 to 9:00PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (Route 202 and Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, and on Saturday, August 28, 2004 from 8:45 AM until his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Patrons Foundation, c/o Robert Polans, Treasurer, 1845 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
